My little fishy

Kate went swimming this afternoon. It was a fun way to spend a Thursday afternoon. She was one brave little girl.

Not to sure about all this water.

Getting the hang of it! The temperature was perfect.

That's how you splash Kate-Kate.
Look at all the hair she is getting.

Am I not feeding this girl enough? Just having a little snack!!

Precious

Thanks Grandpa for showing me how to splash my arms and kick my legs!!

Lots of pics

You know by now that I go everywhere with my camera. Well, this weekend was no exception. We had lots of quality time with Erik's family. Enjoy the pictures.

We stopped by Grammy & Coach's house on Saturday. They just put up a new swing for their grand babies. It is under the perfect Oak tree.

Carl & Traci invited us over for a yummy dinner on Sunday. Aunt Traci was totally entertaining Kate. It was hilarious. Tripp is catching up to Kate in the lbs!! He is so adorable and really filling out. It was neat seeing the cousins together. Not so neat when Kate tried to hit Tripp in the face on 2 separate occasions. Oh that girl!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kate has learned a new game. Can you guess what it is?

Where's Kate???

There she is!!

Peek-a-boo I see you!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

We had an out of the ordinary Monday. It started out fantastic. We went to the library with Grammy. She got to see Kate in action at story time. I think Grammy liked it as much as Kate!! Then I had to go to Katy to help out my sis (it's a long story!!) but I could not bring Kate. We had no available babysitters. So where do I take the baby girl??

To Daddy Daycare---or should I say his office! Erik was so agreeable and such a big help. I dropped her off and he took her in to give her a bottle. Then she helped him finish up some work. Do you think she could have tidied up Daddy's desk?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mimi stopped by this morning. She brought me some breakfast and fed Kate her bottle. We love living so close!!

Have a great week! HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT KAREN :)

Busy Week

We have been having a very busy and fun week. We braved the Tomball library story time on Monday. I have been wanting to take Kate ever since we went with Courtney a couple months ago. This time we headed there solo ready to make some new friends. It was a huge success minus me messing up the introduction song (having to re-sing it!) and the little spit up incident at the end, we had a fun time. Kate was making this new excited sound and really trying to sit up. We are going to try and make this a habit. Hopefully, Grammy will be joining us next week!

Noah and Courtney came to Spring for the beginning of the week. Here is a picture of their proud Grandpa. These two just love this man to pieces!!

While Court and Noah were in town, we had a play date with Adria and her handsome little boy Gavin. He is about to be 2! It was fun to see the 3 babies interact together. Kate is going to have to be one tough cookie to hang out with these boys!!

We also went to the park with my friend Jenny. This is her sweet little boy Evan. He is about to have a little sister. I think he is going to be a good big brother. He was very nice to Kate!

All the small group babies. We have Kate, Gavin, Carter, Hadley, Kimberly and the newest addition Addison. Thank you Lord for these sweet babies!

Kate and her good bud Carter. Thanks for the picture Laura!

I feared this day was coming! Looks like little Miss is not tolerating her bows. What's a momma to do?

My sweet friend, Diana, is retiring from Northampton Elementary. They had a party for her at the school and it was so nice. I can't even put into words all that she has done for me these past 3 years. She is a fantastic friend and teacher. Thanks Mimi for watching Kate. She loved playing peek-a-boo with you.

This was taken a few weekends back, but I had to put it on the blog. It looks like big bows are the new trend :) Grammy just adores her little Kater and we adore our Grammy.

I told you it was a busy week! We like to be busy. Kate is rolling over a lot these days. She is not too graceful. She just kinda flops over. We are still working on the sitting up. She can do it for like .5 seconds then topples over.

6 months old

This little ham bone turned 6 months old on the 12th. Instead of cupcakes and balloons, she had to go to the doctor for shots!! The poor dear was not to happy with momma. Kate is one big 6 month old. She now weighs 16 pounds 11 ounces and is 27 and 3/4 inches. No wonder, she can fit into 12 month clothes.

I love being Kate's mommy! It is so exciting to see her little personality developing and her reaching certain milestones. She is turning into one inquisitive little girl. She is slowly getting into somewhat of a schedule. She goes to bed around 8:30 and is up at 6:30. We are so fortunate she sleeps through the night. Usually, she is back down for a short nap in her crib around 8:30. This morning I just couldn't stand it! She was being so sweet and cuddley. She finished her morning bottle and laid her head on my shoulder. I just held and rocked her. The milestones are great, but it is mornings like this where I don't know how I can love anything more, she has officially stolen my heart. Here are a few pictures from the past month.

Kate is a wild woman in her exersaucer! This expression screams TROUBLE!!

Noah & Kate have really started playing together this month. Noah just giggles at Kate. She is into studying her cousin. I love that they are so close in age.

Kate now eats her morning meal and evening meal in her high chair. She seems to enjoy it. Her favorite fruit is peaches and she loves carrots for dinner.

We have been spending more time with Uncle Carl, Aunt Traci and cousin Tripp these days. Kate likes looking at Tripp. We are fortunate they live so close.

Erik sure knows how to get Kate laughing. (I think it's his whiskers!) The other night I was in the kitchen and Erik was in Kate's room and I heard the sweetest sound. Kate was cracking up laughing. It went on for at least 5 minutes.

Grammy got this picture on her camera. It is one of my all time favorites.

Thanks for checking in on our sweet Kate. Time sure does go by fast. We can't believe she is already 6 months old!

Baby Dedication & Mother's Day

Every weekend with Kate is special. This one just happened to be extra special.

We participated in our churches baby dedication ceremony. It was a very special Saturday night! Thank you to Aunt Courtney, Mimi, Grandpa, Grammy, Coach, Tammy, Adria and Lucy for coming to share in this important night for Kate. Our good friends Scott and Laura also dedicated their sweet baby Carter. We got to stand right next to them on the stage. Kate and Carter were both on their best behavior. We are some very proud parents.

"I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD." 1 Samuel 1 27-28

Here we are back in August in front of the same fountain with little Kate inside my growing belly. We cannot even begin to explain what this little miracle has done to our lives. God is good!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next highlight of the weekend was my 1st Mother's day. Erik & I have been blessed with 2 amazing moms. We are so happy we got to spend part of the day with each of them. My husband was so sweet to me today. He even took Kate-Kate to the mall with him yesterday---all ALONE!! Thank you Erik for spoiling me today and everyday.

Yummy biscuits made by my darling hubby!

We started the day at our house. Lunched with Grammy & Coach and visited with Carl, Traci & Tripp. Then ended the day in Katy. It was very busy and so fun!!

Swimming in Katy. This was Noah's 1st time in the pool. He was in heaven!! Kate was loving all the commotion Noah was causing in the pool. I look forward to the day when Kate can sit up on her own :)
Our sweet husbands working so hard on a wonderful meal of fried fish. (Erik caught these on Friday!) Hats off to Iron Chef Coston & Iron Chef Schindewolf.

Always getting attention from Grandpa

Happy Mother's Day!!

Poor little Kate is all worn out from all the festivities

Thank you Kate for all my presents!
God gave me the best present when he gave me you!!

This was a weekend I will never forget.

Daddy's Girl

Lately, when Erik gets home from work Kate gives him a super sized smile. It is seriously the most wonderful sight. I think back to her 1st 3 months of life when Erik was always greeted with an extremely fussy baby and a worn out momma! Now, he gets to come home to this!

One happy little girl!!

We put Kate in her little blow up pool this past weekend. Let's just say the whole experience wasn't this smiley. She was a little timid at first, but then had a good time.

Speaking of the weekend, we went to a pirate party! Erik's sweet cousin Adam was turning 3 and we just couldn't miss the fun.
They even had a real pirate there!

The birthday boy

Clari and Nathan

Erik and precious cousin Judd

We had a great time at the party. Little Kate was in the partying mood! She was so happy the entire time. I think she loved seeing all of Erik's family and being outside. She finally got to meet Uncle Jamey and Aunt Bev and see all the big kids running around. The Cowan family really knows how to throw a party.
