Wagon & Wedding

This weekend Kate rode in her wagon for the first time. (Thanks Tammy!) Now that she can sit up like a big girl, she loved it. Although, it was way to hot outside. We just took her for a short trip to the mailbox in her red, white and blue bow. We got it for the 4th but thought it was appropriate to wear in support of the USA World Cup game later in the day. Too bad the bow didn't bring the Americans much luck!

Technically, this was the second time Kate had been in a wagon. When she was a little bitty 4 month old she rode with her cousin Noah. He was sitting up and having all the fun. It is crazy how fast they grow!!

Back in March. Kate thinking get me outta here!!
Now, look at me waving at momma!

These next pictures don't really fit in with the title of this post, but they were way too cute not to put on the blog.

On Saturday night, we went to a beautiful wedding. Lance and Michelle got married and everything looked like it should have been in a magazine. Courtney & Kevin were so sweet to keep Kate for us.

On the go!

Look who is scooting/cruising around the house. Kate is banging on cabinets, pulling the fancy ( I never use) dish towel off the oven, going through the trash and bumping into all sorts of stuff. She is busy, busy, busy!!! Might be time to baby proof the house.

All this activity is making my little Kate so sleepy. Apparently, she has a new sleeping position. This is what I witnessed today during her afternoon nap. (Usually she sleeps in more than just her diapie!- I swear)

Hope you are having a good week,

Kristen

1st Father's Day & Noah's Bday

What a memorable weekend! Friday we headed to Katy, with my parents, to help celebrate Noah's 1st birthday. It was such a fun day. Noah is so sweet and loving. He loved all his presents and he loved his RJ Goodies smash cake. Courtney had the cutest decorations and the party was a complete success!! We ended up spending the night and the party continued into Saturday. We took our water loving babies to one of the pools in Cinco Ranch. (Kev picked the pool and it just so happened to have two nice size water slides.---Noooo not for the babies.) We all took turns going down the slides. I cannot rememeber the last time I had been on a water slide.

On Saturday night we had our good friends Phillip and Erin come over for dinner. They have the most adorable and best behaved 6 week old you will ever meet. Kate loved looking at sweet Addison and sharing her toys. Of course, my camera was MIA for the night---go figure. I'm sure we will have lots of opportunities for many photo shoots in the future.

Sunday was very special. We are so lucky to both have such wonderful dads, and it was Erik's 1st Father's Day. Kate got up and helped me make him a tasty breakfast. We headed over to Grammy and Coaches house for a yummy lunch. Then my parents came by later that evening.

Noah is 1

Dear Noah,

Happy 1st Birthday cousin! I love you so much. You are so funny and loud. Momma says you are a good teacher for me. I am always studying you. You have showed me how fun it is to sit up and how to be brave at the library. You have taught me how to splash in the bath tub, use my loud singing voice and how important it is to smile A LOT. I like getting to see you all the time. You are so special to me Noah.

I love you,

Kate-Kate

Silly 7 Month old

Yes I said it. Kate is now 7 months old. My little baby isn't so little anymore. We took her to the neighborhood pool for the 1st time this morning to celebrate. She had such a blast. (I think Erik enjoyed it as much as her!!) I absolutely LOVE this stage. Kate is becoming so silly. We have even heard a few snorts from her when she is laughing. The most adorable snorts in the world :) Here are a few things our precious girl has been up to this month.....

-loves to play with beach balls
-tried baby food meats (thumbs up for sweet potato turkey & thumbs down for apple chicken)
-likes her high chair
-is a fabulous passenger on car trips
-pulls hair, earrings & necklaces
-is always saying the word, "BA."
** side note- the other day Courtney was asking her oh-so-smart son, Noah, what does a lamb say... and who answered 1st, you guessed it my little rocket scientist with a loud "BA!" It was so funny!! Then Noah had to show her up with a "baaaaaaaaaaaa."
-weighs around 19 pounds
-wears 12 month clothes & 18 month jimmy jams
-loves waking up EARLY (lately it has been around 4 am, a little TOO EARLY!)

-made 2 car trips to the river 2 back to back weekends to check out Mimi & Grandpa's river house
-figured out how to wave- not sure if she figured out what it means though

-went to her 1st tea room for lunch with Grammy, Mary, Peggy, Karen, Angie, Jennie, Erin, Caroline, Natalie, Katie & Ruby (and that's not even the whole family!!)

-she loves her cousins Tripp & Noah

-is very happy and social (Good thing because Kate had her 1st experience with the DPS. We had to wait 2 hours and 15 min to get my drivers license. If you were wondering, when they took my picture I did have Kate resting comfortably in her Bjorn. That will be a fun memory everytime I look at my license)
-totally enjoys the water
This is how we do it in Houston when the heat index is 100+ degrees. Put the pool on the covered front porch with a box fan!

Look at my big girl

Swimming in only her diapie. "I love this momma, can we do this everyday?"

-Grammy, Coach, Mimi & Grandpa are always coming by to see their precious Kate. I am pretty sure she adores all the attention.

-And the most important accomplishment of the past month is Kate can sit up on her own!!

We love this little girl to pieces. She is a complete joy.

Memorial Day 2010

We spent the weekend swimming, soaking up the sun and floating the river! The fun started on Saturday when Courtney, Kevin and Noah headed to Spring. We had such a great time. Noah and Kate went swimming at the Bayonne Resort (aka my parents house) and we cooked a yummy dinner.

Sweet Cousins

Captain Awesome

Enjoying her new turtle float

On Sunday we headed to the Guadalupe River with Kate. It was her first real road trip to the Hill Country. She was a very good and sleepy passenger!! We met Mimi and Grandpa there. They were so nice to watch Kate while we tubed down the freezing cold river. We had a blast eating in Gruene, seeing my parents new house being framed and spending time together. We look forward to many more memories to be made at the river.

Our happy passenger in her "Big Girl" car seat!

Looks like we were the only 2 on the river. Not so much!!

Yeee Haw!

Toes in the water

Relaxing in the shade with Mimi

Such a Daddy's girl---LOVE IT!

Family time at the dam at Canyon Lake

Worn out!

This about sums up our short trip. Little Kate was completely exhausted and slept for 2 hours and 45 minutes on the way home. We had such a fun time and a peaceful ride home--gotta love that!
