Hooray for Rain!

Kate learned a new word today, "Puddle!" Finally, we had some much needed rain. We had the most of it by reading some good books, cleaning the house and playing in the rain and puddles. Me and Courtney even got in on the action with our 2 little darlings--such a fun memory :)

The day ended with this amazing sunset.

Thank you Lord for this wonderful day with my sweet daughter.

Nonie is 2!

Kate calls her sweet cousin Noah, Nonie. He calls her Kater Roo Roo. Those two are a mess!! They get so silly together, stomping around, dancing, singing and playing nicely (well sometimes!!)

We had such a good time in Katy last Friday night. Courtney had a pool party for her big 2 year old. Kate had a ball swimming with her Daddy and some of Noah's bestest buds. Mimi and Pa were also there to join in the fun.

Saturday we had a Diego themed family party for him in Spring. Kate was so serious singing Happy Birthday to her cousin. She uses the sweetest high pitched singing voice. I have got to get it on video and figure out how to post it. She loves birthdays and she loves her cousin, Nonie :)

Dear Noah Bear,
We cannot believe you are two, Noah! You are still such a good teacher for our little hurricane. You have such a sweet disposition about you and such an amazing vocabulary. We look forward to watching you grow and we know you are going to do great things in the world.

We love you,
Uncle E, Aunt Krissy & Roo

Father's Day 2011

We wish Erik, Coach and Pa the best Father'a Day! Kate has even given her Daddy the best present, she is still asleep and it is 8:54 am (and so is he!) I have been up making breakfast for Erik. He loves pigs in a blanket and I made some yummy cinnamon rolls (for me and Abbey)-Ha. Kate wanted me to include some of her favortie things about her main man, DADDY.
I love you Daddy because....
1. You swim with me
2. You are the best whisker monster EVER
3. You usee the sweetest and kindest voice with me
4. I love how you give me a bath every night
5. You are silly wiht me. (like when you do the Goofy dance)
6. I love when you get home from work and I give you a slobbery kiss and yell, "Daddy HOME!"
Thank you Daddy for so many reasons. God made me one lucky little girl to have you as my Daddy. Abbey is going to be so excited to have you too.

We love our Dads!

Tea Party & more

Kate went to her 1st tea party this week. Aunt Karen was so sweet to have a few of the little ones over for a very fancy tea! It was so much fun. Aunt Karen went above and beyond and Kate loved every second. She kept saying TEA PARTY and see tried lots of new foods. She enjoyed pimento cheese, chicken salad, yummy apricot jello salad and even scones. My girl is such a good eater! Susu was there and even Tripp was included in the fun. Thank you so much Aunt Karen. What a wonderful memory!

Our week went by so fast. Kate and I decided to have some of our friends over we hadn't seen in way too long. Jenny came by with her adorable little one, Emily. Big brother Evan was out of town, but we loved seeing Emily.
Cutie Emily
We also had Dara and her little man come over. Brody is almost 6 months old and is such a doll. Kate kept calling him BROBY (from Yo Gabba) and she did not want to share her bumbo. Sorry Dara, we are working on our manners :) I taught school with both these girls and I am so glad we have stayed friends.

Handsome Brody
Speaking of old friends, one of my besties Jodie, was in town for a few days. We had lunch at Freebirds and relived our college days. Well not exactly--we have moved on from our Aggie days. We are both pregnant with girls and had so much to talk about. It was little rushed because Kater Bug was with us and you just can't have a leisurely lunch with a 19 month old. My mom and I loved visiting with you Jodie.

We had a busy weekend. We had Gringo's with Erik's parents on Friday and Kate and Tripp were so funny playing together! Erik had lots of projects this weekend. I am cracking the whip around here :) (And also making way too many purchases on ETSY!) We got Abbey's room painted and it is coming along! Speaking of Abbey, she is really kicking and punching in my tummy these days. I think this is my favorite part of being pregnant. I still can't believe we are going to have another baby girl!

My nephew, Noah, is turning 2 this week-where does the time go?

Almost 19 months old!

I have been wanting to do an 18 month post for our little Kate, but time has gotten away from me! It seems like we are always on the go, and once again the blog has been neglected! I have really noticed what a big girl Kate is becoming. I took her to the Dr. the other day and she stood on the big kid scale. No more sitting on the baby scale! She weighs almost 28 pounds and is wearing size 2t. I am loving being at home with my silly girl.

Here are a few new things she has started saying----
---Oh Boy!
---Kate-Kate do that!
---Mommy sit here, Daddy sit here, Kate sit here!
---when she says thank you she also says your welcome in the same breath
---paddle paddle (she likes to show us how she swims)
---is loving eating apples. She says, "No stem, no stem eat middle." I forgot to teach her about the seeds!
---LOVES Dora who she calls Doodie and Boots.
---enjoys books--She likes Too Purpley, Mommy's Hugs and lots more.
---Mimi let her play with play dough for the 1st time. She might have tasted it too!
---has eaten a few veggies (FINALLY)--broccoli and cooked carrots
---I call her my fruitarian. She loves all fruit!!
---we are still working on using a fork all the time.
Today she was sitting on my lap when I was making the grocery list and I was asking her what she wanted me to add to it. She said COOKIES (really tookies). I am thinking she has a sweet tooth like her momma :)

Thanks for checking in on our growing girl,
Kristen

Gracie Girl

Courtney emailed me this picture of Grace this morning! Kate bought her a new outfit and Courtney had to share her smiley little angel in it! We just love this cutie pie to pieces. (Great job with the bow sis!)

Grace and Abbey will be 6 months apart! Gotta love cousins close in age :) Speaking of close in age, our sister in law Traci is pregnant again! Abbey and her little boy will be 2 months apart. Babies, babies and more babies.
