Special Weekend

I know I blog about my how special my little Kate is all the time. Well, my momma is pretty special too! Her and Kate share a birthday. May 12th is Kate's half birthday and my momma's big day! This year we went to Rico's for some yummy food to celebrate. Kate even sat in the booth between her Daddy and Pa. My girl is 18 months old! (This is another post in itself!) and my momma is another year older :) Thank you mom for being so AMAZING and wonderful. You always put your family first, and I love you so much! Here is an adorable picture of little Joanie.

On Sunday we took a little last minute trip to College Station. Kate got to go to her 1st Aggie baseball game. The weather was perfect and we made it for about 6 innings. Erik really enjoyed going back to Olsen field, and seeing his old stomping ground. I can't believe it has been so long since he played there! Yes, Jodie we did make it to Laynes :)
Then...
And Now...

I know he wouldn't want it any other way! I'm not gonna lie, I did LOVE looking and cheering him on all those years ago, but I love looking at this each and everyday. He is such a sweet Daddy to his little girl.

Ohh and this is how Kate amused herself for about 2 innings. Putting on her necklaces and her glasses in between watching "choo choo's" and dancing.

What a special weekend!

Mother's Day Weekend 2011

Oh how I love being a mommy to this silly girl! She is such a light in our lives :)

I had such a special weekend. Erik even took off on Monday, so we had more of a weekend which was amazing .

The weekend was spent relaxing, playing at the park, spending time with family and jumping at bouncin' bears. (Well, I did NOT do any jumping.) I think Erik had just as much fun as Kate.
Blurry, but really captured our morning--look at those big smiles!
Saturday started with Kate's bestie, Addison, turning 1! Erin did a great job on the party and Kate was all smiles. Addison is such a sweet little girl, and we can't wait for these two to grow up together.

Did I mention Kate loves the song Happy Birthday?
Sunday was fun for us as well! Erik made me a yummy breakfast and Kate was on her best behavior. She has started saying "Cheese" and doing the goofiest smile. It really cracks me up. I'm sure you will see from the pictures below. We also had the Schindewolf family over for dinner and we celebrated Erik's sweet momma.

I hope you had a good weekend.

Merry Christmas to me in MAY!

The playroom is finally finished. If you remember way back in December, I posted about our brilliant idea to make the never-used study into a playroom for Kate. Erik's deadline was Feb. 1st. Well, the months flew by and now it's MAY. But, who doesn't love a Christmas present in MAY?! So, with much excitement I am finally ready to share the promised pictures of our new room.
Please keep in mind that is 10:33pm and these pics were just taken while our little tornado is fast asleep. If you drop by on a regular day at a regular time I guarantee it will never ever look like this. (Those of you who have kiddos know what I am talking about!)

These book cases were in my old classroom. Erik painted them this bright shade of turquoise that I love against the latte painted wall. We might add a few more of the shelves. Right now, Kate likes to sit next to "Bear-Bear" on the bottom shelf.

I ordered this amazing decal from Etsy. I got to customize the colors to match the room. I think it is just what this big wall needed. Kate loves to make owl sounds and point to them.

We bought this super girly Fairy Tea Party picture a few hours after we found out we were having another girl. I will always remember that special night, and how I could go a little more girly with this room. The book case is actually a rain gutter. I saw this on line and knew it was what we needed. I think we are going to add another one right above this one. Kate is into books, so this was a perfect addition.
Well there it is! Come on over and play. I'm sure Kate will share her toys. :)
