recap of the week

I have decided to put this post in chunks. I am a little behind on the blogging, so please bear with me and all the chunks. I am going to start with our fun filled Saturday night at the Starr-Cowan compound. This wasn't any regular Saturday night, but a HALLOWEEN BASH. And I mean BASH. No detail was left out! From all the decorations, to the haunted forest, to the yummy themed snacks---it was a party to remember. It just so happened to be Kate's 1st Halloween party EVER. She was in love with all the ghosts and all the babies in costumes. She also loved their little weenie dog. Seriously, great party Starr and Cowan family.

I love the look on Kate's face in this one with cousin Tripp.

This was about 30 seconds after we left the party. The poor girl was wiped out. Love the tambourine on her arm.

Sticking with the Halloween theme, here is a picture from Schindewolf Lane. Aunt Janelle always has fun holiday decorations.

Look I can stand too!

We had a yummy dinner with the Schindewolf family on Sunday night. Kate and Tripp are really interacting these days. Even if Tripp wants to steal Kate's pretty pink twinkle toe shoes- hee hee.

Friday I got together with two of my oldest friends, Melissa and Sarah. Sarah was visiting from Minnesota, so we had to make time for a play date. It was more than a good time. Thanks Melissa for having us over to your beautiful new house. Both Matthew and Carter were so much fun. Kate could not stop talking about it on the way home. Well, actually she fell asleep right after we left Melissa's street. That says it all FUN FUN.

Speaking of Kate talking, she is saying a few new words. Ball is her absolute favorite. She also says Bub for bubble , hat and bow. She also says woff woff when she is by a dog.

Lastly, we had a blast with cousin Noah on Thursday. He is one funny little dude.

Who plays in the sprinkler at the end of October?
Well, that would be Noah.
You can do anything at Mimi and Grandpa's house.

All wet and loving it!

Thanks for checking in.

Pumpkin Patch

We, like everyone else in this city, decided to head to the pumpkin patch for some fall fun. Kate was more than amused by the pumpkins. She was literally crawling/climbing over them. It was too funny. She was on sensory overload. From the big orange pumpkins, all the babies around and the planes flying over us---she was pumped up! Erik definitely earns top dad honors. I was armed with the camera and he was THAT guy doing anything to make his little darling smile. I mean anything---even the loud monkey noises. (That is usually our golden ticket to a smile!) Can you really see Erik causing a scene? Trust me, the things he will do to keep both his girls happy. Enjoy the pictures. We only had to take 62 of them--no not really!

( I know the spider bow is a bit ridiculous---even for me!)

We also took a family trip to the grocery store. This is a rarity. I wanted you to see how we roll through the HEB. And yes, she is steering with her foot. The fun never ends with this little girl.
Here are just a few more from the weekend.

Look no hands! Kate has taken a few steps today.

My girl
Happy Fall!

11 Months Old!

Kate is now 11 months old. She has been so busy this month. She has said hot, Dada, Mama, baby and how big. My friend, Jessica, gave me a book called, How Big, and Kate LOVES it. There are pictures of real babies in it and she is totally obsessed with babies. One night, Erik was changing her diaper and he screamed for me to get in there. I run in there and I hear, "how big" in the sweetest little voice. She seriously said it like 20 times. She is cruising along the furniture and I swear I saw a tiny step the other day. This girl LOVES to eat. She has tried lots of real people food this month. She is finally eating yogurt and loves pizza and spaghetti. Luckily, she will still eat baby food most days. I have been sneaking in carrots whenever possible :) Sometimes she even wants to feed herself with a spoon. This can be tricky due to the fact that she is not all about the bib.

As you can see, Kate is finally wearing shoes. (Andi, I know Aaron will finally approve!) They light up and she loves them. We have been going on lots of picnics and enjoying this beautiful weather. Erik will meet us after work and we have the best time. Kate is so amused by ducks, birds and she enjoys the swings. Our lives just revolve around our sweet little girl and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Kate had her 1st trip to Aggieland. We went for an Aggie soccer game on Sunday. She loved being outside and watching all the action. It really made me miss that place. It was so nice to see all the coaches and get a chance to visit with them.

Speaking of firsts, Kate also went to her 1st tea room. (Completely opposite from the soccer game, I know!) Susie, Aunt Karen, my mom and Kate all went for lunch on Monday. Kate was on her best behavior and it was such a nice way to spend a Monday. Thanks Grammy!!

Happy 11 month bday sweet girl!

Thanks for checking in,

Celebrations & River Fun

We had the fam over on Friday night for some dinner, ping pong and cupcakes in honor of Erik's 29th bday. The weather was perfect, so we spent a lot of time outside. It was such a fun evening.

Saturday we headed to the River and Kate had a blast with her Mimi and Grandpa. We missed our little Boopers, but had such a relaxing time. Thank you very much Mom and Dad!!

Date Night

What a view!

Earlier in the week we had some quality time with Noah and Courtney. Uncle Kevin even got in on the action!! We took the babies to Market Street, out to lunch and to feed the ducks. Noah just loved the ducks!! He is talking so much now and such a big boy!

Have a great week. We are headed to Katy on Tuesday. We are going to find out if Kate has another boy cousin or a girl cousin. We can hardly wait!!
