Glorious Weekend

We headed to Fredericksburg, TX this past weekend. It was so relaxing, so fun and so wonderful. Can you tell I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it?! I have to admit I was a little sad to leave our Kater Bug, but I knew she was in very good hands!!

We met Courtney, Kevin, Leslie and Jason in Fredericksburg. Leslie was brave enough to live with us in college. She is absolutely hilarious, always up for a good time and has the best singing voice. And a great get-a-way organizer!! Thanks Les and Jason.

The "Haunted House" we stayed in that was built in 1880. It was so cute (except for all the black and white pictures of all the ghosts that still call it home :)

The Wild Seed farm we stopped at on the way. It is just outside of Fredericksburg.
Totally the perfect time of year to visit.

Eating lunch at the brewery on Saturday.
Did lots of shopping after a delicious lunch.

What a beautiful day to sample some wine!

Doesn't this look like a posed up Homecoming picture!!
I love this guy!

On the way home we took a slight detour and stopped at Perdanales State Park
and checked out the falls. It was really neat to see!

Thanks again Mom and Dad for braving the 2 little ones. We really had the best weekend.

Slumber Party!!

Kate had way too much fun this weekend. She got to spend it at Mimi and Grandpa's house along with her sweet cousin Noah. That's right, the grandparents kept both babies!! How lucky are we?! Kate and Noah had all kinds of fun! They didn't just sit around the house!! Grammy and Coach even came by a couple times to get in on the fun.

Smiling (probably at Grandpa!)

Noah laughing (probably at Mimi!!)

They ate together! Noah even finished Kate's squash.

All full

Went to Burroughs park to walk and swing.
They showed Kate the soccer fields she will play at in a few years!

Kate even rolled over for the first time while we were gone. Go figure!!
Looks really safe on the coach!

All clean and ready for bed

Thanks mom and dad for watching little Miss Kate. She had such a great time. We appreciate all you do for us.

Weekend in pictures

We had a nice and relaxing weekend.

One of the rare times Kate is still on the changing table. Lately, she has become quite a "Buckin' Bronco" as we call it. You can't take your eyes off her for a second on the changing table!

We got a little park time in on Friday night.
I love to see the joy on Kate's face when she is swinging.

I never put this baby in shoes. She is so amused with her toes I wouldn't dare cover them up. Well, just for kicks I put these adorable Mud Pie sandals on her. Usually, they are in her room for decoration. They were so cute, but see the bright green elastic it was SO tight.
The poor baby almost had to get her shoes cut off.

Playing dress up at Grammy's house on Saturday.
They were so sweet to keep Kate while we had a lunch date.
Grammy you forgot the bow!!

Sunday afternoon the 3 of us headed to Dara's house for a crawfish boil. Her husband, Travis, was celebrating his birthday. We had a great time hanging out and catching up with Dara!

Kate got a new toy this weekend.
She loves not being on her
back or tummy but standing up.
Daddy did a great job putting it together.

Kate's favorite baby food is still BIB flavor! She is always attacking her bibs.

"Hello Kate and how are you..

How are you? How are you? How are you? Hello Kate and how are you? It's nice to see you today!" "Hello Noah and how are you? How are you? How are you? Hello Noah and how are you? It's nice to see you today!" --- You get the idea! This little chant has been stuck in my head since our library time yesterday in Katy. Courtney and I took the little rugrats to story time and they LOVED it. Even Kate was getting all into it! To start things off, the librarian goes around the circle (puppet in hand) and leads the group in the above chant. It was so funny to see all 20 or so kids reactions when everyone said their name. Yes, I said 20! Let's just say the song lasted for quite a while!!
A few of the moms were commenting on how smiley Noah was and what a big bow Kate had on! I think we showed the Katy folk how to wear a bow :) I had a few questions of, "How old is she?" "I said she just turned 5 months old." response---, "Oh she is sooooo big!" Is she really that big? I have never thought of Kate as being bigger than most. Then there was little 5 month old Violet sitting across for us. Kate could have eaten her for lunch!! Thanks for showing us the library time Aunt Courtney.

We also played, watched a little Barney, went to Target and for a little walk.

Playing with all of Noah's toys! (You'll sit up one day soon Kate-Kate)

My toes are the best toy!!
I love my sundress cousin Erin!

Kate just loves her Aunt Courtney. She was smiling at her all day and cooing. Kate especially, liked when the tickle monster was getting her. I wish we lived closer, but I have a feeling we will be headed to Katy a lot more in the upcoming weeks.

The day ended with a very "busy" Noah and a diapie party in the bed! Only babies wearing Huggies were invited. Kate really didn't know what to think, but it was oh so funny!

"I'll get you back one day Noah!"

So silly--that Noah Coston!!

5 months old

On April the 12th, sweet Kate will be 5 months old. Our hearts are so full of love for our little girl. We love that God blessed us with this sweet chubby cheeked miracle.

This month has been very exciting. We notice Kate changing almost daily. She is getting much more of a personality, but not much hair!! Here are some of the fun things Kater-Bug has been up too.

-went on a swing for the first time--so brave!
-has tried prunes, squash, peas (and no she did not gag), sweet potatoes, carrots & applesauce
- eats about 5 1/2 ounces of her delicious formula about every 3 hours
-got her picture made by a professional at JCPennys
2 times--one with Cousin Noah
-saw and popped bubbles for the 1st time
-still sleeps throught the night like a big girl (this teething may put an end to that for the time being!)
-went to her 1st brithday party for her friend Carter
-still spits up ALOT
-smiles & LAUGHS much more often
-recognizes her momma and daddy (melts our hearts!)
-is totally in love with her feet and toes
-likes to be in the car
-is fascinated by other babies
-puts her fingers and hands together--concentrates so hard on this
-is the most content outside
-celebrated her 1st Easter along with cousin Noah and cousin Tripp
We are enjoying being parents. These last 5 months have been at times challenging and the most rewarding of our lives. We can't wait to see what this month has in store for little Kate.

I see a TOOTH!

This almost 5 month old little girl is teething! Shocking, I know!! I thought she is much too little to be teething. According, to my very knowledgeable sister, babies can start teething at 4 months. Thanks Dr. Courtney!! Bring on this new adventure. On a side note, I texted Erik today to tell him the oh-so exciting news, and his response was, "Lord help us!"

Let's hope we get a little more sleep tonight.

Special Weekend

Kate got to experience her 1st Easter this weekend. It was full of family time--the way Easter should be! Thank you Mimi and Grandpa for my beautiful smocked Easter dress and bow!

Good Friday was spent with my side of the family. We took some bluebonnet pictures of Noah and Kate, grilled out some delicious burgers and went swimming. My dad heated up the hot tub ever so slightly so Noah and Kate could go swimming for the 1st time. Thanks Uncle Kevin and Aunt Courtney for playing with me in the big tub! She seemed to like it. It was a very fun and relaxing day.

On Saturday we went over to Susie's to wish her a happy birthday. The have the most beautiful azaleas blooming and we had to take some pictures. This was actually Erik's dads idea---not mine!

On Easter we headed to Traci and Carl's house for some yummy brisket and family time. Kate was excited to see her cousin Tripp, but he was asleep the whole time we were there!! It was nice warm weather and we enjoyed being outside. Sunday ended by swinging back by my parents and giving them some "Kate Time." You are in demand when you have a little baby girl!!

It's your 1st Easter Kate-Kate!
Sooo sorry no candy this year.
Starting the day with Daddy.

Kate to sleep--hmmmmm!!

Thanks to all the "Easter Bunnies" who made Kate's 1st Easter so extra special! We loved spending time with everyone.

Have a good week!
