Port A Family Vacation

Thanks Mom and Dad for a fun filled 5 days of vacation.  We had such a great time in Port Aransas.  The whole family was there and it was non stop action.  Here's a little re-cap.

Kate HATED the ocean and the seaweed.  She had the most fun building a sand castle with her daddy and swimming with her new floaties in the pool.  Oh and she didn't nap the entire trip, you can only imagine :) Grade C+

Abbey loved the beach and went into the ocean!  The sand was new to her too :) She was such a happy baby the entire trip.  Abbey also tried some new finger foods (pear, cheerios and yogurt melts) Mimi got the silly face from Babbers the whole trip. Grade A

Gracie loved I mean LOVED everything about the beach.  She was chasing seagulls, darting into the ocean and was the happiest I have ever seen her!  Such a joy that Gracie Coston :) Grade A+

Noah (or Nonie) as Kate calls him was very brave when it came to the ocean.  He played with his Daddy on the boogie board and called "Kahuna" with Pa.  He also loved the pool and eating his meals next to Kate on the cushions.  Grade B

Mom and Dad worked so hard to make sure a good time was had by all.  Truth be told, it is exhausting having 4 under the age of 3, but it is out life and we LOVE it :)  We enjoyed every second of our get a way to the beach.  In fact, Kate is still talking about it.

Enjoy the pics :)

What a way to start off the summer!

Kate

Kate had her last day of school today.  She really LOVES school and it makes me so happy :)  She adores her teachers, Mrs. Laura and Mrs. Ashley. They are both so patient and loving.  It was water day, so she got to wear her bathing suite.  Susie was so sweet to watch Abbey, so I could go snap some pics of my big girl.

Kate is so hilarious these days.  She keeps us on our toes and says the funniest things!  She knows her abc's, her numbers and so much more!  She has the best memory and LOVES to dance and sing.  Lately, she is into humming and working puzzles "for 3 year olds" as she says.

Kate has also been helping so much.  She puts the dirty bottles in the sink, organizes the baby food, helps me bake, and puts the silverware in the proper place.  (If only she could fold laundry-HA)

We just love our big big girl to pieces!

8 months & a few days

Abbey is now 8 months old. She is just the sweetest thing. We cannot get enough of her. Here are a few things our little love is up to.....
-can hold her bottle by herself
-uses a sippy with a straw for water
-eats baby food 3 times a day. She loves pears, bananas, mango, & sweet potato. Does not like green beans, peas, or squash!
-likes yogurt
-loves puffs and mum mums
-almost crawling (look out!)

-ADORES her daddy

-waves and learning to clap

-says DA DA
-gets the most excited when she sees Kate or tries to get her
-we are lucky if she makes it until 5am (we count that through the night)
-naps 3 times a day
-has 2 bottom teeth
-in size 4 diaper and wearing 9-12 month clothes (around 19 pounds)
-still sucks her 2 fingers when she is ready for bed.
-enjoys bath time with her sissy

Life is good here in the Schindewolf house. We love our 2 girls so much and cannot believe how fast they are growing up!

Mother's Day 2012

We traveled home from the river on Mother's Day morning.  And both girls were SOOOO good.  I didn't even have to squish between them in the back.  Kate enjoyed her new Little Einsteins DVDs (Thanks Traci!) & a few Cheetos Puffs and Abbey had a nice long nap.

We had Susan and Don over for Chuy's Mexican food for dinner.  Susie is so great with "sharing holidays" but we were happy to hurry home to get to spend time with her.

It was such a happy day---spending time with my precious girls, my wonderful momma and the sweetest Mother in Law around.  Kate and Abbey are so lucky to grow up with such great role models like their Mimi and Susu.  We thank God for them everyday.

River Birthday for my Momma

We loaded up and headed to my parents river house on Thursday.  My mom, the birthday girl, and my sweet girls hit the road Thursday morning.  After 3 stops and pouring rain we made it :)  Kate was beyond excited to be there.  My mom and I took the girls out to eat, and to the Children's museum of New Braunfels. (Totally recommend!). Poor Abbey was a little under the weather but was still a trooper.  My dad and Erik got to the river Friday afternoon.  Abbey was the most excited to see her Daddy.  In fact, she said her 1st word DA DA DA while looking and waving at Erik.  For weeks now, Kate has been trying to get Abbey to say DA DA.  :)  We got to Kayak, and had a fun picnic lunch at the Driftwood winery.  It was a gorgeous day in the Hill Country and the perfect setting to celebrate my wonderful momma's birthday.  Erik and my dad also went on a Kayak adventure for 2 1/2 hours.  They made it out alive, but not so much for my dad's phone.  Timmy T took a tumble in the freezing water and his phone went with him :(

What a special weekend to spend with family.  So thankful for such amazing memories.

We drove home on Sunday morning.  Both girls were seriously so good in the car.  Talk about a wonderful mother's day present.  More about Mother's Day a little later...

Hot Hot!

It feels like summer here! The Houston heat and humidity is here and not going anywhere! We have been playing a lot with my sweet neighbor and her girls. Kate adores Charlie and I have a feeling Abbey and Anna will hit it off soon too :)

We also celebrated Courtney's BDAY on Friday night. The kids did a piƱata and went swimming. Even Abbey put her bathing suite on! It was such a great evening celebrating my sissy.

Noah and Kate went on a special ice cream date with Pa to Marble Slab. I'm sure we would have taken Gracie and Abbey if he had enough car seats :)

We celebrated Cinci de Mayo at a friends house. We are so fortunate to live so close to our friends and all their sweet babies.

Next on the agenda is my wonderful mom's BDAY and Mother's Day at the river!
