Family Baby Shower

I had the best weekend. Erik's sweet family had a wonderful shower for Kate! It was at his Aunt Karen's beautiful house and so many of his family members were there. Some of his cousins even drove in from Tyler and Austin. It made me feel so special! Kate handled all of the attention quite well. Some of his family hadn't seen her in a couple of months and they couldn't believe how much she had grown :) We got so many great gifts. She is already one loved little girl. You would not believe what her Uncle Carl and Aunt Traci gave her---a custom made doll house book shelf. It is my favorite thing in her whole nursery. Carl was so thoughtful to make it for his niece. I know she will enjoy it for many years. I absolutely LOVE it!! Kate will be lucky to be a part of such a big loving family in a couple of months, that is for sure. Thank you to Mary, Karen, Peggy C., Janelle, Carrie, Peggy S., all the cousins and friends of the family for a very special baby shower! We appreciate all you do for us.

The cutest cake! And it was so yummy.

Erik's cousin Becky made the diaper cake. Love the pink and green!

The amazing doll house bookcase decorated and in her nursery.

The hostess with the mostest---Aunt Karen!
Traci & Jessica. We are all pregnant! Kate will have a cousin due in Feb. and one due in March.
Me and my MIL (mother in law) She has made Kate the sweetest blankets.

Happy Birthday Dad! I am so lucky to have a wonderful dad that lives only 2.7 miles away. He always puts his family first, has a great attitude, is hilarious, and you can always find him on the dance floor :) I hope you have a great day Dad! You deserve it. Here are some pictures of the birthday boy!

Love you Dad! I hope you enjoy your date filled cookies and angel food cake with cherry icing.

Family Vacation

We were so lucky to get to go on vacation for 7 days!! We headed to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, or as the locals call OBX. The weather was not the greatest, but we made the most of our time at the beach. We went crabbing, fishing, relaxed in the sun (when it was out) and had a great time with the family! Thanks mom and dad for a wonderful week! Here are a few pictures.

Sunrise right in front of our beach house. Mom took this one.

At the local Blues and Brews Festival. We enjoyed blues bands outside right next to the ocean. They enjoyed lots of brews as well. Noah and I were good sports :)

At the festival with my dad.

Crabbing with chicken necks on a rainy afternoon. Look what we caught!!

Into the pot.....

Onto the table and into our bellies!

Baby Noah just relaxing in the hammock.

Look what my fisherman husband caught a 28.5 inch red fish!

Dad caught the biggest fish at 33 inches! Court caught the most--go figure.

Looks like little Noah Bear was having a fun time!

The beach in front of our house. The waves were huge most of the trip.

Scenic shot. There are lots of lighthouses around the Outer Banks.

Great picture of Mimi, Grandpa and Noah. Who is that guy in the background?

Noah resting on his cousin Kate :)

Our friends Bonnie and Joe drove in from Raleigh. They are expecting a baby boy in a few weeks. It was so good to catch up with them.

Erik dancing with his girls! (He is going to love that I put this one on here!)
Happy 29 weeks Little Kate.

Have a good week.

TGIF

Yay for Friday and for the long weekend. Erik is so excited for a 3 day weekend.

We had a yummy dinner with Erik's family tonight. It was fun! We had Mexican food, which baby Kate loves!
Susie and her boys. Don had to leave to go to a football game. He hated to miss the picture. :)

I also got to see sweet Baby Noah, my adorable nephew. It has been a few weeks since I have seen him and he has changed so much. I realized I have not posted any pictures of him on my blog. So, here you go. Enjoy your long weekend!

Sprinklers & Cell Phones

Obviously, these two items do not mix. Unfortunately, my cell phone was the victim to the sprinkler in the backyard last night. It was left on the table outside and got a good ole' soaking. I am totally blaming this on "Pregnancy Brain." If you are unfamiliar with this term just ask Erik. He can give you a lengthy definition!

For more important matters, we had another Dr.'s appointment on Monday. This was Erik's 1st time to meet the Dr. that is going to be delivering Kate. She discussed pediatricians, newborn care classes, cord blood banking, and the results of our ultra sound. According to the Doctor, Kate is doing just fine. My tummy is measuring right on track which is 27 weeks in other words, nice and round. I start going every 2 weeks now and can't believe it! Time is flying by!

She will be here before we know it! We are having a fun time imagining what our little girl is going to look like. What do you think? More like Erik or me?
