1st Christmas

Kate had a busy first Christmas! The festivities started on the night of the 23rd. All of the Cowan (Susan's side) got together to celebrate. When I say all of the Cowans I am not talking about 10 people, I am not talking about 20 people---try 54! Kate was so good. She had her eyes opened and was very alert most of the time. G'ma Schindewolf was very proud to show her off!

The 24th was action packed. We had breakfast at Don and Susie's, lunch with the entire Schindewolf family and Christmas Eve with my family and the Ramirez family. We were exhausted (and oh so full) by the end of the day, but so thankful to have such wonderful families and friends to share the day with!

This baby needs a bow, she looks like a boy---a cute boy!

Stop taking my picture!!

We rushed over to my parents for Christmas breakfast and gifts. Kate must have been a good girl because Santa brought her a lot of toys and clothes. She is growing so fast! Noah was actually able to tear the wrapping paper off his gifts! He is getting so big. It was neat that both Noah and Kate celebrated their first Christmas together---the first of many! Erik and I were so excited to get a new camera for Christmas. No, we did not wear out the old one taking pictures of Kate!! It was just time for an upgrade!

Kate got to meet some of my favorite people--Jodie and Amanda. They both stopped by to catch up and meet our baby girl. Our old neighbors also stopped by. They have 3 very sweet children and it was good to see them. It was nice of all of them to take time out of their busy schedules to come over.

We hope you had a memorable Christmas and a happy and healthy new year!

Happy 1 month Kate!

Yesterday, Kate turned 1 month old--- can you believe it?!
We went to the Dr. on Friday afternoon for Kate's 1 month check up. She now weighs 9 pounds and 14 ounces! She loves her some milk :) She is also 21 and 3/4 inches long. Our little baby isn't so little anymore!! Here are a few of the silly nicknames we have been calling Kate over the past month.
- Katie Kate Kate
- Miss Kate
- Kater
- Katerton
- Kater Roo (that is Grandpa's name for her)
- baby bird
- little love bug
-Robin (Erik's dad's nickname for Kate)
Erik is so embarrassed that I actually put those on here. However, I am the one that blogs and I think it will be amusing to look back at this list one day and remember when she was such a little baby.

We have had a really good weekend and Kate got to meet some of our dear friends. On Friday we went to our small group Christmas party at Erin and Phillips house. We had a wonderful time--great friends and yummy food really put us in the Christmas spirit. Of course, we had to put Miss Kate in her little Christmas dress. Mimi even found her some tights and adorable shoes. At the party, Kate got to meet Laura and Scott's precious baby Carter. He is only 7 weeks older than Kate and we think they are going to be good friends.

Ready for the party!

Kate and her boyfriend Carter

Another highlight from the weekend was one of my best friends, Kristin, coming to visit. She drove in from Dallas and spent the weekend with us. She loved Kate, and was so good with her. Kristin and I had a nice lunch date and ran to Target on Saturday. It is always nice to get out and about! Thanks for coming Kris!!

Saturday night we had Melissa and Scott come over to the house. Melissa, Kristin and I all grew up playing soccer together and it was so fun getting together. Their baby Carter (yes another Carter) also came along. He is 8 months old and simply the cutest thing! It was really fun catching up and talking all about our babies.

We ended our weekend by a trip to Schindewolf Lane. Kate loved napping on Grandmother Schindewolf and Grandmother absolutely loved loving on Kate. She was so content and quiet over there. As I am typing this, she is screaming her head off in her daddy's arms. I think Kate wants to get back to Grandmother Schindewolf!!

Cute Cousins!

4 weeks old

Kate is getting so big. And so are her vocal cords!! There is definitely a baby in the house. She is still sleeping a lot and makes the funniest faces. Kate loves her bath time. She is so happy in her pink bath tub. I don't know what I would do without all the help I am getting during the day when Erik is at work. It is great to get a restful nap and a shower! This week Kate made her first trip to Schindewolf Lane. We thought she would like to see all the beautiful Christmas lights, but she slept the entire time. Kate also got to have an evening with her Mimi and Grandpa without us. My parents babysat little Kate while Erik and I had a delicious Anniversary dinner. It was a fun date night! Here are some pictures from the week.

Santa Claus is coming to town!
What's so funny baby Kate?

Kate really doesn't mind her car seat---thank goodness!

3 years ago today.....

I married the man of my dreams. We said our I do's, danced, laughed, and had the time of our lives with our families and friends. Here is a recap from that special night.

This is how it all began.....

And after a year of planning the big night December 8th, 2006.....

And it was over. We rode off on that cold December night to our happily ever after.

3 weeks old

Miss Kate is now 3 weeks old. We are enjoying every second with her. She is very sweet and loves looking around. I think she really likes the Christmas tree. She is also enjoying her Hippo nap mat. Yes, we are putting her down---sometimes! Her 3 week birthday started off great. Grandmother Schindewolf came over this morning and Kate was wide awake--for once! Grandmother was so happy to get to see Kate's eyes open. Later in the day, Kate and I headed over to my parents house. I am getting better loading her up and getting out of the house. Granted my parents only live 2.7 miles away! Cousin Noah is still here in Spring, so we were looking forward to a good afternoon. Let's just say we had 2 fussy babies and a tired Momma and Mimi! We tried to get a photo shoot of the two, but as you will see Kate was not about to cooperate. We hope you are having a good Thursday and getting in the Christmas Spirit!

Pretty Baby!

What kind of face is this??

Poor Noah!

This was the best one we got!

Tired out! All that posing is exhausting!
