Hello March!

We ended up taking Kate to the Doctor this past Monday. She had been extremely fussy and her little tummy has not been feeling too well. I was describing all the symptoms to the nurse and this is how Miss Kate was acting....

So happy and content. Go figure!! The Doctor suggested changing her formula and it seems to be working. She is not getting nearly as upset and acts like she is feeling much better.

Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

Kate has a little cold---the poor baby

Mimi & Grandpa stopped by for a few minutes

Watching the Aggie basketball team beat the Longhorns on Saturday

So exhausted

Yummy rattle

Daddy put my bow on for this picture--can you tell?

This is the cradle Kate refused to sleep in her 1st 10 weeks of life.
I put her in it today just to see how she
would react and this is what I get. A smiley baby!!

Kate loves being outside in her new stroller especially on
a beautiful 70 degree afternoon!
Bring on the Spring weather--we are more than ready!!

We had to lay low this weekend. Kate is battling a cold. Grandpa and Mimi were so sweet to watch Kate so Erik and I could go to church. After praising the Lord, we headed to Luby's with my good friend Jenny and her sweet 2 year old Evan. Evan is such a doll. I wish I would have brought my camera. Evan was showing us how to eat red jello with a straw. Oh to be a 2 year old! It was fun to see what we have to look forward to with Kate in a couple of years. Grammy and Coach brought us dinner again. We are so spoiled!! We are the ones that should be doing this for them. Grammy is so thoughtful.

We hope you had a good weekend.

Friends

Tonight Kate got to see her good pal Carter and we got to see our friend Andy. Kate was really checking out Carter tonight! It was their first time to really act interested in each other.

Andy is one of our oldest and dearest friends. I have known him since I was 2 and Erik has been friends with him for almost as long. We have played T-ball together, watched Rescue Rangers and dined at Lubys more times than we can count! He has not had a chance to see Kate since Christmas, but he got to tonight. It was really sweet seeing Kate with her "Uncle A."

Here are some priceless pictures of us with Andy. Enjoy the trip down memory lane!

Long Weekend

Who says little girls can't wear blue?

Nothing seems to be working for the poor colicky baby girl. Maybe we should look at it as she is VERY strong-willed. She has been slightly unhappy and fussy this weekend. We are trying everything!! It might be time to change the formula again. We keep reminding ourselves that this is a phase---we hope! We have concluded that at times, being a parent is very stressful and exhausting--but we wouldn't change a thing! We love this little girl to pieces!!

Family shot

Lunch date with Grandpa at Chick-a-fila

I did capture a few moments of happiness. I always try and keep my camera near by because we never know when we are going to get a precious smile or a break from the crying.

Look how big I am getting!

On Saturday, we braved the Kater, and met The Coston's at BJ's Pizza at Willowbrook. It was such a good time. Noah is so adorable and smiley. He was so excited to see Kate. He was squealing and waving his arms. It is hard to get a posed picture with a 8 month old and a 3 month old.

The Coston Crew (love the vintage T Noah)

I love you Kater Bug!

Spending some time (and spitting up) on Aunt Courtney

The happiest baby ever----Noah

Saturday night we had our good friends Rich and Kara over for dinner. They will be moving into the neighborhood at the beginning of the summer and we are so excited. Rich even helped Erik give Kate a bath. She was splashing and kicking up a storm--it was hilarious. Kate still loves her bath time.
Kate has also started to grab things and touch her rattles. This is a new development and we love watching her get super excited. We are such proud parents :) I could not get a picture without it looking staged. But I promise she is doing it!!

Kate spending some time with Daddy

Kate spitting up on Daddy--look closely it is dribbling down his face--sick!!

Our weekend ended with a visit from Erik's parents, Grammy and Coach. They were so nice to come over and fix us dinner.

Uncle Todd and Aunt Kaye sent her this baseball cap.
Go Tigers!
She might be a tomboy after all.

"Enough pictures Momma!"

We hope you had a good weekend. Here's to us having a week full of smiles!!!

Say Goodbye

to this....

and hello to this.....

No more paci for Kate. She has loved it for her entire 3 months of life. Apparently, when you turn 3 months old you decide paci's are for babies!! Yesterday, she decided she is a fingers only girl!!

Hope you are having a good week.

Our Valentine

Our Little Love Bug

Kate decided to be more smiley than usual on this special day. It truly melted our hearts and we had to share with all of you. She does not smile all that much, but when she does it lights up her entire face.

She even woke up from a nap smiling.
She must have learned that from cousin Noah!

CHEESE!!

On another note, we took Kate to the Dr. on Friday for her tummy. As I mentioned in a previous post, she is a little colicky and has a very sensitive stomach. It turns out the doctor thinks our little baby may have acid reflux. We got a prescription filled right away. Hopefully, this will ease her discomfort after she eats. We will be keeping our fingers crossed. She also weighs 13 pounds and 7 ounces and is 24 3/4 inches long. The nurse called her "Nice and Hefty!" I don't think that is an adjective I would use to describe an adorable 3 month old--but whatever :)

Taking a little cat nap

I have mentioned before that my darling husband takes the weekend night shift for me. Well it turns out, Kate slept through the night on Friday AND Saturday. I told you she is a Daddy's girl. That makes 5 times through the night---but who is counting??!!

3 Months Old

She has stolen Daddy's heart!!

Kate is now 3 months old. Where does the time go? She is really taking in the world around her. She looks around so much!! Lately, she has been very amused by mirrors. She loves looking at herself, especially when she is in the bath tub. We are still working on the schedule thing. She is slowly becoming more consistent in her naps and does pretty good at night. (Praise the Lord!!) Kate has slept through the night 3 times. Momma is so proud of her!! She usually wakes up once around 2ish eats her bottle then goes right back to sleep---in her crib :) Erik is still so helpful when he gets home from work. They have a little routine they do at night. I love to hear Erik talking to her when she gets her bath. She loves kicking her feet and splashing.

Unfortunately, she is still colicky. It is so heartbreaking to hear her scream and not be able to figure out what is wrong with the poor little girl. We have switched her formula. According to the Dr, she is lactose intolerant and her poor little tummy has been very upset. The new formula is lactose free and it seems to be helping. Hopefully, she will outgrow this soon.

Here are a few things about our Baby Kate.....
-still loves her paci
-eats around 4 1/2 ounces (I've tried to give her more but she always spits is up!!)
-loves being on the go whether it be in the car or in the stroller
-went to the grocery store for the 1st time this month
-went to her daddy's office for the 1st time
-loves being rocked, bounced and held
-sucks her fingers all the time!!
-is our "Brown Eyed Girl"
-starting to like the Baby Bjorn (when facing out)
-still bald
-sneezes a lot--especially when out in the sun
Here are some pictures!

"Momma, are you really making me wear this ridiculous thing?!!"

The Office

On Friday I packed up Kate-Kate, the diaper bag, the umbrella, and a prayer and headed to Erik's office. This was our 1st big trip together. This was Kate's 1st trip to the big city :) Luckily our little darling slept almost the entire 45 minutes there. Erik greeted us out in the parking lot and Kate was all smiles. The smiles continued as Erik showed her off to a lot of his co-workers. It was so precious. The fun didn't stop there. After about 20 minutes of smiles, we headed out to lunch. Another 1st for Kate! This was her 1st time in a restaurant. She loved looking around and she is really in to watching us eat. I think baby food is in her near future!! The ride home didn't go as smoothly. As soon as we dropped off Erik, she was screaming!! Not the I'm so tired whimper, not the louder I am getting to be very hungry scream, but the GET ME OUT OF THIS DANG CAR SEAT scream! This went on for about 15 minutes. Then it was George Strait to the rescue. One of our dear friends, Laura, gave Kate a George Strait Lullaby CD and it is a saving grace. I turned that cd up so loud and within 5 minutes she was snoozing. As I was listening to the CD I was thinking to myself, at least our precious poopsie is good in public :)

Daddy's girl! (Yes, Erik can wear a cap and a beard to work---how nice!)

LIFESAVER!! Totally recommend!

Napping on G'ma! This is Kate's favorite place to take her afternoon nap!

My 1st pair of blue jeans!

We hope you are having a good week!
