Kelsey & Mara visit!

My cousin, Erica, and her family have been visiting here for the past 4 days. It was such a treat! We never really get to see each other as they live in Michigan. They have this awesome camper and travel around during the summer months. It was so fun introducing them to the babies and seeing how big their girls have gotten! We went swimming, visited and had tons of fun!! We can't wait to see them again next summer :)

Camo Kate & The Cades Visit

Last weekend was another fun one! We had a blast at Sam's 5th birthday. It was hunting themed, so of course we headed to Academy to get Kater some gear. Can you believe they do not carry camo bows? I mean really----JUST JOKING!! We had a great time hanging out with Erik's family and seeing everyone. Birthday parties are always a fun time with the Cowan Clan. Sam is just adorable, and so much of a BOY! Thanks Wendy and Joe!

On a side note, Kate has been CRAZY about Erik's dad, Coach, lately. She is always smiling so big at him and is constantly making sure he is looking at her. I don't know who loves it more Kate or Coach! Pretty soon he will be teaching her how to swing a bat--I'm sure of it!

Our good friends Katy and Clay finally got to meet Kate. We hadn't seen them since my baby shower. And let me tell you, they spoiled her rotten. Kate loved them just like we do! They did not want to put her down. Katy fed her a bottle, Clay did the baby food and they taught her some neat songs on her xylophone. We had such a fun visit.

Everyone who misses Katy and Clay & wishes they would move back!!

8 Months Old

Eight Months Old

Our Kate is now 8 months old. We have been blessed beyond measure with this little girl. Here are some things she has been up to.

-Not a big fan of going to sleep at night. We have had quite the protester on our hands the past couple of nights. She will scream as soon as we walk into her room and sometimes even the hall way. Poor Kate doesn't want to miss a thing!!

-Loves cruising in her walker or Tripp's walker

-still working on crawling (Noah has been trying to teach her!)
-A PRO at sitting up
-Has been using those mesh bags to suck all different kinds of fruit. Very messy, but she seems to like it. So far, she LOVES mango and watermelon.

-Playing dress up in one of Momma's old dresses

-And one of daddy's old outfits!

-Wears size 12 to 18 month
-Flips and flops in her crib. No longer just a back sleeper!
-Still will wear her hair bows---YAY!
-Very happy and sweet!

-tried a little ice cream this month (just a little bit!!)

Loves going on new adventures!

July 4th Part 2

Our little Firecracker!

Monday, the 5th, was filled with family time. Erik and I both enjoy hanging out with our families. It really felt like a holiday getting to spend the day with them. Kate got to see both her cousins, and go swimming 2 times. What a way to spend a Monday!!

July 4th Part 1

We packed up and headed to Bracketville, TX to spend the 4th of July with some great friends with lots of babies! The Chamberlain's were so sweet to invite all of us to their beautiful ranch. We made the 6 hour drive on Friday. Kate was such a good passenger! It was a blast.

We headed home on Sunday night. Kate slept most of the trip. We did make a stop at the Seguin What-a-burger. Kate was flirting it up with everyone in the restaurant--such a social butterfly we have. Fun with Noah

Here it comes Noah!

We have been having lots of cousin time this week. Kate has been loving it!! We have been swimming, to the park and to the merry-go-round at the mall. She is really getting a personality and I love getting to spend each day with my little side kick!
