Abbey's Dedication

Our little Abbey Lynn was dedicated at church on Sunday.  It was such a special day.  Our family came to church with us and Kate even sat in on the 1st part of the service in the "Big Church." She was mesmerized by it all.  It was a memorable sight seeing my big girl raising her arms and praising Jesus!  The actual dedication ceremony was wonderful.  However, my favorite part was before the ceremony when Erik was holding Abbey.  Abbey was watching the band, smiling and clapping her hands along with the music.  I thanked Jesus right then and there for our sweet sweet girl.
Back to the ceremony.  Seven other babies were dedicated and each family got to write a blessing and read it for their child.  I was so proud of Erik!  He did an amazing job reading it in front of the entire church.  Here is our blessing for Abbey.
Sweet Abbey,
We can't thank God enough for the incredible blessing he has given us in you.  Today, as we dedicate you in front of God and the church, your mother and I promise to raise you to know and love Jesus.  Our prayer is that you grow to be kind and compassionate and that God's love will shine through you.  Matthew 5:16 says: In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.  We pray you discover and embrace the gifts God has given specifically to you.
We love you,
Mommy & Daddy

This is how we found her in the nursery when church was over
After church, we had a yummy brunch at our house.  Thank you to our family, Mimi, Pa, Susu, Coach, Courtney, Traci, Carl, Tripp and Tucker for being with us to celebrate this important day.  It meant so much to me to have all of you there.

What a sweet day in the life of our sweet girl.

Erik, Tim & Don

We had a nice Sunday celebrating our dads and Erik :) We lunched at Fuddruckers with my parents.  Kate was all about PA.  I mean all about him.  It was so cute.  I am pretty sure my dad adored every second of it.  After a quick lunch we headed over to my parents for some swimming.  Well, Erik, Kate and my dad hit the pool.  Abbey took a little nap and me and mom relaxed.  Kate is getting really brave in the pool and loves being thrown in the air by her Daddy and Pa.  Abbey was extra sweet to her Daddy and giving him lots of attention.

Later in the evening we visited Schindewolf Lane.  We had a nice dinner with Don, Susie, Carl, Traci, Tripp, Tucker and Aunt Janelle.  Oh, and the best cherry pie thanks to RJ Goodies.

Nice Hair Don.

We had a happy day celebrating our Dads.

Speaking of Dads, Kate has been covering Erik with kisses and hugs lately.  She runs to him when he gets home from work.  It is precious.  A huge hug is usually followed with this---
" DADDY I missed you.  I love you soooooo much!  I'm sooooo happy you're here!" She even says it in a dramatic tone.  Man, I love this girl :) And her Daddy too.

- We were at my parents the other night and Kate told Abbey, "You are special!" What a moment :)

Friends & Family Time

On Sunday, after church, we got to see two of our sweet friends that were in town!  It was GREAT to see Katy and Clay :)  We had lunch at Lupe Tortilla ( I don't think they have those in Rotan, where they live!) with Katy, Clay and the Amend family.  Talk about a fun time.  We were able to catch up over some yummy mexican food.  It had been way too long.  In fact, this was the 1st time for Katy and Clay to meet Abbey.  We have yet to meet their precious Parker (he stayed at Grandma's house) But hopefully next trip!
We also had lots of great family time this weekend.  On Sunday night, we had Susie, Don and Carl's family over.  My momma also joined us.  Kate and Tripp were dancing fools and the cutest things.  My mom commented on how they look like they could be brother and sister- gotta love the Schindewolf genes!!
