So loved

At my 1st sleepover at Mimi & Grandpa's house.
Does it look like I had fun or what?!

Kate is so very lucky to have all her grandparents near by. We love spending time with all of them, and sharing our sweet baby girl.

Hanging out with Coach

Grammy giving me some good milk!

Every girl needs a.....

Tutu!!!

Saturday was such a rainy and dreary day here in Spring, TX. Until, we checked the mail and things instantly got a whole lot brighter--thanks to Jill and Derek. They sent Kate the most elaborate and fun tutu I have ever seen. Of course, we instantly had to do a photo shoot. Erik was the photographer for this event. He usually misses out on all the fun, but not this time. Oh the joys of having a baby girl :)

I know, the yellow bow is a bit much (even for this bow
loving momma) so we switched them out.

Such a good little model

We spent Saturday afternoon at my parents house. Kev, Court and Noah came over. Noah is no longer a little baby---he is such a big boy. He crawls and always wants to stand up. We are amazed how fast he changes.

Noah & his Uncle E

This is a framer!

I hope all the teachers had a restful and fun spring break! Kate and I had a fun lunch date with my friend Dara. I used to teach with her and I miss getting to see her everyday. Kate was really good at Black Walnut, and Dara was really good with Kate. So sorry about the spit up on your pants--we are still working on her manners! :)

Dara & Kate

Last week the weather was glorious. Kate and I spent a lot of time outside walking, playing with the neighbor girls, and sitting on our bench in the front. This is what our typical walk looks like....

Before

After

Kate has been enjoying grabbing things, playing with her toys, and pulling hair these days. Sometimes, she is happier sprawled out on the floor than being held. I love that she is learning to play on her own. (Erik likes it too because maybe now he will have some clean laundry!)

Today, we had Kate giggling. It was hilarious. We tried to make her do it for Grammy and Coach this evening, but she was a little bashful. And this momma was very embarrassed for the ridiculous antics I was displaying in front of my in laws to get the poopsie girl to laugh! Only Daddy was able to get a few laughs. It was so sweet.

We hope you had a good weekend.

Old Friends & New Babies

What a wonderful way to spend a Thursday night--with old friends and all their new babies! Some of my old teammates from Challenge 81-82 (we are soo old!) got together along with their parents, husbands and babies at the Wiebe house last night. Talk about a good time!!! We always talk about getting together and leave it to the Wiebe's to get everything organized--Thanks Sarah and Karen!! I have known these girls forever. We played soccer together growing up and now we are all raising babies around the same age. Let's see...there is Colt, Carter, Kayla, Matthew and Kate. Pat and Smitty were even there! What would a mini Challenge reunion be without those two?! Enjoy the pictures!

My dad coached us for all those years. This is Kristen's baby, Kayla.
We were out done in the bow department by precious Kayla!

That's right Colt, your momma played soccer!
She was so fast and scored all kinds of goals.

One more group shot

So much fun! I can't wait to do it again soon!!

4 months old

March 12, 2010

Little Kate-Kate isn't so little anymore. She is 4 months old, 26 inches long and weighs 14 pounds 2 ounces. We have had such a wonderful week. We've even heard a few giggles from the little girl. There is no sweeter sound in the world! She is feeling tons better and has been so sweet. Here are a few things she has been up to this month.

--SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT usually around 8:30-6:30
--eats 5 ounces (still spits up a little bit--sorry about your carpet Traci & Carl!)
--kicks her legs so fast
--loves getting her diapy changed
--loves when her Grandpa babysits
--can put herself to sleep for naps and bed time
(this is a new development and we love it!)
--she always has her eyes open so big and wide
--studies everyone and everything
--blows bubbles and makes her lips move
--has other forms of communication besides hollering :)
--loves "watching her movie" (the aquarium in her crib--thanks Adria)
--loves sucking her fingers (still!)
--warming up to tummy time (finally!)
--enjoys hitting Glowy the Glow worm
--spent the night with Mimi & Grandpa two
nights last weekend (Slumber Party!)
--loves being outside & watching the wind blow the leaves

So sweet!

Get that neck strong!

What a little butterball!

Kate's cousin, Tripp, is now here! We visited him last night and he is just precious and soooo little compared to Kate!! Traci and Carl are doing a great job and we love our new addition to the Schindewolf family.

I told you he is handsome!

Happy Birthday Tripp March 4th

All 8 of us! Kate is checking out Tripp.
Don't worry Kate-Kate Grammy still loves you!

Cousins

Kate is so lucky to have her cousin Noah. I know, I am always mentioning him! They are around 5 months apart and will be able to grow up together. Well, Kate is about to have another boy cousin. Baby Tripp is coming very very soon (like tonight!). Kate and Tripp will be about 4 months apart and we couldn't be happier for Carl and Traci. Kate will have both cousins to grow up with. Erik was so lucky to grow up with cousins nearby. And by cousins I mean lots and lots of cousins. My 4 cousins have always lived far away. We got to see each other on occasion while we were growing up. Thankfully, Kate's cousins will be apart of her everyday life. Hopefully, she won't be beating them up :)

Speaking of cousins, we had a play date with Noah on Wednesday. We had a lot of fun. Thankfully, Mimi came with us! Enjoy the pictures.

"I'm gonna get you Kate-Kate!"

"Not so fast Noah-Bear!"

Our Mimi is the greatest! (Thanks for this pic Court!)

1st Wagon ride together (And this one too!)

Not too sure about this tummy time

Soon we will be having play dates with Tripp. We are so blessed to have a growing family.

Have a good weekend,

Kristen
