Christmas 2010

This Was Kate's 2nd Christmas and oh-so fun! We spent lots of time with our families, went to church, ate way too much and opened some very special gifts. We both feel so fortunate to get to spend the holidays with our families--that's what is all about! We hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Before church with happy babies
(In the nursery= NOT happy babies)
So hard to get a pic of Tripp & Kate---busy busy busy!

Kate on her new giraffe (which she calls"Neigh Neigh"!)
It does resemble a horse.
I have a million other pictures that captured our special holiday, but I will spare you :)
Happy 2011,

Smile for Santa

or not!!
This was Kate's second time to sit on Santa's lap. It didn't go so well. Even though, we will ask her what Santa says and with a smile she will say "ho oh ho!" She was super smiley before & after. I think the donut holes helped!

Smiling at her Uncle Kevin

We had a fun weekend. Kate and Noah hung out on Saturday and we went to Erik's precious cousin, Maya's, 5th birthday party. Enjoy the pics.

pizza party!

Sweet Cousins

Erik finally got to come to the park.
We go all the time, but he always misses out.
Kate loved that her Da was there to play.

Happy Birthday Princess Maya

We had a blast at your birthday party. Kate went in to one of those fun bouncey things for the 1st time with her Daddy. Grammy and I watched from the sidelines!

Can you say Daddy's GIRL!
Thanks for my sassy new hoodie Aunt Courtney!
And Kate got to meet her Great Great Uncle Wayne and cousin Midge.
They drove in all the way from Oklahoma. Uncle Wayne is Susie's mom's brother--so Kate's GREAT-GREAT uncle.
We hope you had a good weekend and are staying warm.

Wedding Fun!

Erik and I headed out of town this weekend for his sweet cousin Jennie's wedding. We had such a blast! The ceremony was very nice and the reception was great! We had way too much fun with Carl and Traci :) The reception was at an old theater and there was such a fun vibe in the place. There was dancing and even a vintage photo booth. Jennie looked beautiful and was glowing the whole night. Sorry to say, that Kate missed out on the fun. She had a slumber party at Mimi and Pa's house. She definitely was not bored. She went to Walmart, the donut shop and Mexican food. Thanks Mom and Dad! We really appreciate you taking such great care of our little Boopers.

Look what we found!--Kate st.

Speaking of Kate.....

Here is her new idea of fun.

What a fun weekend. Coach, Tripp and Kate really missed out.
Thanks for checking in,
Kristen

Little Miss

I realized I had like 12 birthday posts for Kate (not really that many!) but I have not written down what she has been up to the past month. Kate is now walking everywhere! It is so fun to see. She is a very strong willed little thing. We might just be throwing a few tantrums over here. Is it possible that the terrible twos start early? Speaking of tantrums---at the river house Kate was sprawled out on the wood floors wailing and Erik came into the room and said, " Sounds like someone is skinning a cat in here." Do you know what our sweet angel said--"Meow, Meow!" Hilarious :)
Here are a few more things Kate has been saying and doing.
-she can point to her ears, eyes, bellybutton, nose, mouth, toes, head and hair.
-she makes a few animal noises. Cow, cat, dog, and her favorite one to make is BBBAAAAAAAAAA for a sheep. Noah is a great teacher!
-she says Pa, Da, up, no (another favorite of hers!), me, mama, nini for Noah, ball, bow, yum yum (for food)hot and hat that is all I can think of right now
-she waves bye and says hi
- she loves the books Moo Baa La La La and Daddys Hugs.
-and has developed a mean scowl (see below)
It is mean.
I love to give this new look to anyone/anywhere
--Walmart, Whataburger--you name it.

Hmmm..I've never been in here.

I move the bar stools around the kitchen.

I love to go down slides.
-I am getting lots of hair.
-Momma cut off my rat tail, so I had my 1st hair cut.

Already a soccer player??
I can still be sweet :)

Thanks for checking in,
Kristen

Turkey Day 2010

I feel a little behind on posting, on decorating my house for Christmas and well just about everything!! From the beginning, I wanted to do this blog so we could remember all the little things with our Kate. I have not been good at keeping up with her baby book (terrible I know!) but hopefully she will be able to look back at this one day and get a glimpse of our life as a family and smile.

Here goes---Thanksgiving 2010.
We started early on Sunday at the Schindewolf house. They were so sweet to let us reserve the day for them (even if it technically wasn't Thanksgiving!) I am very thankful for my sweet and loving in-laws. We feasted, played, walked the lane and had so much fun. Tripp and Kate were very amusing. Kate wasn't too cooperative when it came to photo shoots. It was nice spending the day together.
Grammy showing Kate how to wear the Minnie ears with a smile!

My parents river house is finally complete! We all spent our 1st of many Turkey Days at the river. The house is beautiful and is already decorated. It felt homey and so comfortable! We did not want to leave!! Thanks mom and dad. This was one turkey day for the record books. I loved eating my delicious meal surrounded by my loving family and staring out at the beautiful Guadalupe river. You should have never given us a key. If you see a for sale sign in our yard don't be surprised-- hee hee :)

Gotta love the timer on the camera!

Yay for Fall!

Gruene, TX.
Kate got her picture with Santa for the 1st time.
She was not too friendly with him.

Who is in the box? Is it Daddy?

Silly Daddy

The wonderful back deck at the house.
We loved hanging out here until it was too cold!
(We had to bring in the plants!)

We have so much to be thankful for!
